What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file the browser stores so the site can recognise the same browser on the next request. We use cookies only as described here.
Session cookie
When you sign in, the site sets an HTTP-only session cookie. It is required for the client center to know who you are. It is not read by JavaScript and it is not an advertising cookie. Closing the session or signing out ends it according to the browser and the server session length.
Language cookie
If you choose a language, we store that choice in a cookie named lang so the next visit uses the same language. It lasts up to one year. The site still works if you block it; it will fall back to the default language.
Analytics cookies
The Google tag on these pages uses measurement ID G-ZJ462BMLYM. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_ZJ462BMLYM to distinguish browsers and to remember whether you have visited before. Those cookies can last from a few minutes up to two years. Google’s own policy describes how Google uses them. We use the reports to see which public pages are read.
Registration check
Opening an account loads Google reCAPTCHA. Google may set a cookie such as _GRECAPTCHA so it can tell a person from an automated submission. That cookie is used on the registration form.
What we do not use
We do not run an advertising pixel, and we do not use cookies to follow you across unrelated sites for ads. Third-party cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and, on the registration form, from Google reCAPTCHA.
How to control them
You can block or delete cookies in the browser. Blocking the session cookie means the client center cannot stay signed in. Blocking analytics cookies means the visit is not measured in Google Analytics. Browser vendors also offer a setting to refuse third-party cookies.
